Tofukuji is a Zen Buddhist temple in Kyoto. It has wooden buildings constructed in 1236 and four gardens, each arranged differently with gravel, rocks, moss, and trees. A combined ticket covers the gardens and the Tsutenkyo bridge, and arriving early in the morning allows you to sit on the veranda and look around quietly. If you expect autumn leaves, the scenery can be bleak in winter when the leaves are gone.
