Ninenzaka is a tourist spot in Kyoto lined with traditional buildings and shops, running from Gion to Kiyomizu-dera. You can look through traditional souvenir shops and have snacks and coffee on the way down. Around 8 AM you can walk among a moderate crowd, and before 7 it is quieter. There are stairs and crowded sections, so with small children you need to go slowly.
