Sannenzaka is a traditional street that continues down from Kiyomizu-dera, lined with traditional houses, tea shops, and souvenir stores. Shops along the street sell oiwa and matcha ice cream, mochi, and dango, and there are also yukata rental shops. The street can be walked without a ticket, and combining it with Kiyomizu-dera and Ninenzaka makes a course that takes more than half a day. When tourists crowd the narrow street, moving through it becomes difficult.
