Okunoin is a Buddhist temple located deep within the grounds of Kiyomizu-dera in Kyoto, directly above the Otowa waterfall behind the main hall. From its stage, visitors can see the main hall of Kiyomizu-dera, the city of Kyoto, and Kyoto Tower at a glance. As a representative viewpoint for photographing Kiyomizu-dera, it draws crowds during the day, with waits of over 20 minutes for a shot. During nighttime illumination, people press in from the entrance, making it difficult to move up to the stage.
