Maruyama Park is an old city park in Kyoto, next to Yasaka Shrine, with cherry blossoms and walking paths. The weeping cherry tree in the center of the park blooms from late March to early April, is lit at night, and food stalls open in spring. There is no admission fee, and the park has a pond, a stream, restrooms, and a cafe, with a full loop taking about 30 minutes to an hour. During cherry blossom season there are large crowds and noise, so a quiet walk is difficult.
