Cheongsu-sa Jaan-tap is a wooden pagoda at Kiyomizu-dera in Kyoto, reached by following the path to the right of the main hall, and it is dedicated to prayers for safe childbirth. Buying a ticket lets you enter and see the Kiyomizu-dera main hall up close, along with the mountain scenery and the old streets beyond. Arriving at 6:30 a.m. still means about a dozen people at the entrance, and by 5 p.m. entry is blocked. Near the ticket booth there is a rest area that sprays water mist, while the area around the Kiyomizu-dera main hall is crowded enough to be jostled.
