Imahie Jingu is a shrine in Higashiyama, Kyoto, east of Chishakuin and Sanjusangendo, up the hill from Higashioji street. It enshrines a sacred monkey beside the main hall and is known for warding off misfortune and evil. Emperor Go-Shirakawa established it in 1160 as the guardian deity of Hojuji, and the Shinji festival has continued for over 800 years. The parking area's location and markings are not clear.
