Yeonggeumjeong Sunrise Pavilion

Yeonggeumjeong Haedochi Pavilion is a coastal pavilion on the rocks below the Sokcho Lighthouse at the shore of Dongmyeong Port in Sokcho. Waves striking the rocks produce a geomungo-like sound, and the spot looks out over the East Sea and the sunrise. A bridge about 50 m long crosses the water to the pavilion, which is lit at night. Right next to it are the Dongmyeong Port fish market and takeout stalls selling items such as fried shrimp.
