The Gwongeumseong Course sits at the entrance of Seoraksan in Sokcho and shows the remains of a stone fortress built to repel Mongol invasions during the Goryeo period. A ride on the Seoraksan cable car takes about five minutes, followed by a five to ten minute walk to views of large rocks, the East Sea, Sokcho, and Seoraksan itself. The top station building has three floors, and the snack corner on the second floor sells fish cake soup, tteokbokki, and hotteok. On weekends or during busy times, the wait for the cable car can reach two hours.
