Kyoto Gyoen Seiryoden is a hall inside the Kyoto Imperial Palace that served as the emperor's daily residence and administrative space. It was in use from the middle of the Heian period, and the central tatami area, Hinoomashi, was the emperor's daily seat. The current building was rebuilt in the old style at the end of the Edo period and is open to the public. Exhibits show the spaces used for imperial enthronements and traditional ceremonies.
