Koo Shrine sits west of Kyoto Gyoen and takes the wild boar as its symbol, protecting the health of feet and lower backs. Visitors draw omikuji with boar-shaped ceramics and look at the komaino shishi and boar decorations throughout the grounds. Around 4 PM the crowds thin out, allowing quiet worship, and there are foot-shaped spots and a bicycle parking lot. The grounds are small, so there is not much to see.
