Gwangcheongsa

Gwangcheongsa is a temple north of the Shichihonmatsu bus stop in Marutamachi, Kyoto. In front of the main hall is the Garden of Deepening, made by Shigemori Mirei, which uses stones and a bamboo fence to form the character for "heart." The temple was founded in 1669, and the main hall enshrines a Heian-period standing statue of Seonggwanseumbosal. Photography is not allowed inside the main hall.
