Kimono Forest is an outdoor installation of pillars covered in kimono fabric patterns, located inside Randen Arashiyama Station in Kyoto. Each pillar carries a different kimono textile pattern, and lights turn on at night to bring out the colors. The site is small, and walking around it takes five to ten minutes. Visitors can take photos while waiting for the Torokko train, and during the day the absence of night lighting makes it less striking.
