Yongyeon is a pond outside the north wall of Hwaseong in Suwon. Banghwasuryujeong and Yongmeori Rock reflect in the water, and lotus flowers and autumn leaves appear with the seasons. It was built when Hwaseong was constructed during the reign of King Jeongjo, and mats and picnic sets can be rented for outings. Weekend daytime brings many picnic visitors, and the water is not very clean.
