Suwon Hwaseong is a World Heritage fortress in downtown Suwon. King Jeongjo built it from 1794 to 1796, and its walls stretch 5.74 kilometres. Walking around the fortress takes about two to three hours and includes sights such as Hwaseong Haenggung, Banghwasuryujeong, Yeonmudae, Hwahongmun, Paldalmun, and Janganmun. The southwest section runs alongside Paldalsan, with uphill paths and a wide overall circuit.
