Banghwasuryujeong is a pavilion on the northeast side of Suwon Hwaseong. It served as the Dongbuk Gangnu, a lookout post, during wartime and as a pavilion for viewing the Yongyeon landscape in ordinary times. It was built in 1794, the 18th year of King Jeongjo of Joseon, and stands alongside Hwahongmun. The pavilion is currently closed to visitors due to repair work.
