Daebak Gamjajeon

Daebak Gamjajeon is an old restaurant in Sokcho Market that serves gamjajeon and makgeolli. The owner grates potatoes on a box grater to order and cooks them on a griddle, and the janmakgeolli is self-serve. In summer the shop sells corn instead of gamjajeon, and gamjajeon returns in November; takeout is not available. Potatoes are grated right after dishes are washed at the street-side cooking counter, so hygiene practices are rough.
