Munetada Shrine sits on Yoshida Mountain in Kyoto, between the rear of Yoshida Shrine and the front of Shinnyodo. It enshrines Kurozumi Munetada, the founder of Kurozumikyo. Founded in 1862, it has a main hall and a Shinmeigu standing side by side, along with a broad worship hall covered in sand. Cherry trees line both sides of the approach and form a long cherry blossom tunnel in spring, and at the entrance stands a handstand komainu made of Bizen pottery.
