Heian Shrine in Kyoto is a large shrine entered through a big red torii gate. Behind the shrine is a garden with a cherry tree path, a pond, and stone bridges. The garden takes at least an hour, and while the shrine itself requires no ticket, the rear garden requires a purchased ticket. The Daigokuden was under construction and had limited access.
