Garden of Fine Arts Kyoto

Kyoto Prefectural Garden of Fine Art is an open-air painting exhibition space designed by Tadao Ando, located near Exit 3 of Kitayama and next to the Kyoto Prefectural Botanical Garden. Visitors walk along exposed concrete, water features, and a sloped path, listening to the sound of water while viewing several paintings. On weekday mornings, entry is possible without waiting and the full route can be covered in 20 to 30 minutes. Some sections have moss and the water gives off a smell, which detracts from the maintenance.
