Forest of Kyōto

Kyoto no Mori is a zoo in Kyoto where visitors observe animals native to Japan. It is an exhibition area designed around the theme of a Japanese garden, with winding paths and small streams running through it. The zoo cares for wild animals injured in Kyoto and releases them back into the wild, while animals that cannot return live out their lives here. Pesticides are not sprayed on the grass and trees so that fireflies can settle in.
