Yanagikoji Street is a roughly 70-meter stone-paved alley lined with restaurants and shops, near Shinkyogoku shopping street and Nishiki Market in central Kyoto, close to Kawaramachi Station. Curry shops, standing bars, wagashi confectioners and Japanese goods stores run along it, and a willow tree stands at the entrance. A small red torii and Hachibe Myojin shrine sit in the middle of the alley, with Yanagikoji stone markers at both entrances. The alley is 60 to 100 meters long and narrow, so it is easy to pass by unless you enter from Shinkyogoku street.
