Pontocho is a tourist area in central Kyoto where bars, restaurants, and entertainment venues line a narrow alley. It is a place to walk through Kyoto's narrow streets that recall the Edo period. In the evening, you can see the side of Kyoto where the old streets and the present connect. Most of the shops are on the expensive side.
