Seong Sikdang

Seongsikdang is a charcoal grill restaurant in Mokpo's Hangdong Market that has served Jeolla-style tteokgalbi and galbitang for over 60 years. Finely minced galbi meat is marinated in soy sauce, pressed onto the ribs, aged for a day, then grilled over hot iron grates to take on a smoky char. Seats are secured by phone reservation before visiting. The tteokgalbi becomes tough and chewy once it cools.
