Byeolmaro Cheonmundae is an observatory in Yeongwol-eup, Yeongwol-gun, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, at an elevation of 799m up a mountain road from the town center. It runs constellation lectures and celestial observation programs, with lectures held underground before visitors move to the fourth floor to view objects such as the Hercules Cluster and the Ring Nebula in Lyra through telescopes. Operations are fully reservation-based online, with a shuttle ride of 20 to 30 minutes each way and a program of about one hour. When there are many clouds or the weather is bad, actual stargazing is difficult.
