Sacheonwangsa Beonjangdang is a Buddhist temple east of the Golden Hall at Shitennoji in Osaka, dedicated to Seongdeoktaeja, regarded as the founder of architecture and carpentry. It houses a statue of Gokcheoktaeja holding a carpenter’s square in his right hand, and tradition holds that he carved “Namu Amitabul” with tools including a gold hammer, saw and awl. The current building was donated by the construction company Gongogumi in 2002. The Gokcheoktaeja statue is displayed specially on the 22nd of each month, and is kept inside a shrine on other days, making it difficult to see directly.
