Tennoji Zoo

Tennoji Zoo is an urban zoo near Shinsekai Market and Tsutenkaku Tower where visitors can see tigers, lions, penguins, and seals. Penguins and seals can be viewed through glass at a distance of about 1 meter, and visitors navigate the large grounds with a paper map. Tickets are purchased on site, viewing takes about an hour and a half, and the zoo closes at 5 PM. On hot days the animals are asleep or exhausted, so some animals cannot be seen later in the day.
