Jeongguk-sa is a Jodo sect temple in Shitaderamachi, Osaka. It holds the grave of Yugiri Dayu, known as an Edo-period beauty, and is called a flower temple for its cherry blossoms, azaleas and roses. Founded in 1560, it houses a main Amitabha Buddha statue made about 700 years ago, and on the first Sunday of April each year a procession honors Yugiri Dayu. The temple also handles funerals and memorial services for pets.
