Shinjuku Center Building is a large office building connected to the west exit of Shinjuku Station by an underground passage. The basement holds izakayas, cafes, ramen shops and a Lawson, and on weekday lunchtimes bento boxes are sold in the passage. Completed in 1979, the building has 54 floors above ground and stands 222.95 metres tall, with a brown brick-patterned exterior. In winter it is lit up along with the surrounding high-rise buildings.
