Honsho-ji is a Nichiren Buddhist temple in Shinjuku, Tokyo, a six-minute walk from Yotsuya-sanchome Station. It enshrines the deity Bishamonten, and its gate and Bishamondo hall remain as Edo-period structures. The interior of the Bishamondo can be viewed by reserving by phone, and a kaiun kigan-e prayer gathering is held on the first of each month. The grounds also hold the grave of Hagiwara Soko, a mid-Edo-period scholar of national learning and poet.
