Goei-do is a large Buddhist temple within walking distance of Kyoto Station and near Kyoto Tower. The Yoiden hall, which enshrines a portrait of Saint Shinran, is a wooden building 38 meters tall, 76 meters wide and 58 meters deep, with an interior that opens into a 927-tatami-mat space. Visitors take off their shoes, put them in a plastic bag and go inside, and worship is free. The corridor displays a model and a sled explaining a Niigata lumber transport accident.
