Umekōji Park

Umekoji Park is a large city park about a 15-minute walk from Kyoto Station, with lawns, a playground, and walking paths. The Kyoto Railway Museum and Kyoto Aquarium are attached to it, and a shallow stream and a path along the railway tracks offer yaezakura in spring. A handicraft market is held on the first Saturday of each month, and the playground has an unusual rail slide. Without visiting the railway museum and aquarium, there is little to see.
