Gyehwawon is a Chinese restaurant near Hongje Station in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, serving tangsuyuk, Chinese-style yaki udon, and jjamppong since 1989. The tangsuyuk is made by deep-frying thick cuts of meat in-house and pouring over a thin sauce that contains pineapple, while the yaki udon is served jjamppong-style with stir-fried seafood and vegetables. During meal times, a wait begins at 5:30 and food takes about 10 minutes to arrive after ordering, and you can ask for the sauce on the side. The dining area has about eight tables, so seating is close together and the room tends to be loud.
