Naramachi

Naramachi is a historic district of traditional wooden machiya, small shops and cafes, set slightly apart from Nara Park. Its narrow alleys are lined with craft shops and traditional houses. A few of the traditional houses are free to enter, and the lanes are quieter than Nara Park. After 5:30 pm many shops are closed, and by 6 pm the district is nearly still.
