Oggeori Cultural Center is a Japanese-style temple building in the old downtown intersection of Mokpo, now used as a cultural center for exhibitions and cultural events. The Dongbonwonsa Mokpo Branch Hall, built in 1898, became a wooden main hall in 1905 and then a stone main hall in the 1930s, and it hosts painting exhibitions and film screenings. From 1957 to 2007 it served as Mokpo Central Church, and it is Registered Cultural Heritage No. 340 and Historic Site No. 9 of the May 18 Democratic Uprising. The interior is usually locked, so there is little to see besides the building's exterior.
