Gatbawi sits at the mouth of the Yeongsan River near Pyeonghwa Plaza in Mokpo, where two natural rocks resemble people wearing satgat hats. A sea walkway leads close to the rocks, and at night lighting illuminates the scene. Walking the area at no cost takes about 30 minutes, and the east entrance has a larger parking lot and restrooms. There is not much else to see nearby, so a trip made only for Gatbawi can feel lacking.
