Gapjaok Moja Jeom

Gapjaok Mojajeom is a hat shop in the old downtown of Mokpo that displays and sells hats. It opened in 1927 and stands on a street that keeps the look of the old downtown. The shop began in a two-story wooden building during the Japanese colonial period, and after a fire in 1965 it became a three-story concrete building with Gapja carved on the front. A hat factory operated on the third floor at one point.
