Ichimonjiya Wasuke

Ichimonjiya Wasuke is a mochi shop away from central Kyoto that sells aburi mochi and grilled dango, both over 1,000 years old in tradition. The mochi is grilled over charcoal, topped with a sweet miso sauce, and served with green tea. The menu is only tea and mochi, so the line moves quickly even when there is one, and by around 4 p.m. the wait to sit is about 15 minutes. It is far from central Kyoto and inconvenient to reach.
