Aburimochi Kazariya is a Japanese dessert shop near Kinkaku-ji in Kyoto that serves charcoal-grilled aburimochi brushed with a white miso sauce, along with green tea. The shop has kept to a single menu for close to 400 years, and telling the staff the number of people in your party is enough to have the grilled rice cakes and tea prepared. Staff grill the mochi continuously at the hearth by the entrance, and seating is available in a traditional-style room inside. Lines tend to be long.
