Tsurugaoka Hachiman-gu

Tsurugaoka Hachimangu is a shrine in Kamakura, a 5 to 10 minute walk from Kamakura Station along the shopping street. A long approach, a red torii gate, and the main hall at the top of a staircase line up on one axis. Entry to the grounds is free, while the Kokuhokan and the samurai exhibition hall require separate admission. The staircase up to the main hall is taller than expected.
