Nakajima Park is a large park in central Sapporo, close to Susukino and directly in front of Exit 3 of Nakajima Koen Station. A walking path around the lake has mallards and lawns, along with a literary museum, a concert hall, and an observatory. A roughly five-minute walk from the tram stop Nakajima Koen Dori to the park entrance leads to Hoheikan, which opened as a hotel in 1881. In winter the lake freezes and snow accumulates.
