Goryokaku Park is a free park in Hakodate where visitors walk inside a star-shaped fort near Goryokaku Tower. Trails run along the inside and outside of the walls past cherry trees and the Hakodate Bugyosho. Entry to the park is free, while the interior of the Hakodate Bugyosho requires a separate ticket, and the rest area on the tower's first floor offers shelter from the cold. Wind is strong, so gloves and boots are needed in winter.
