Shinkawa Park runs along the Sumida River between Chuo Ohashi and Eitai Ohashi in central Tokyo. It has a row of cherry trees, benches, and stairs leading down toward the water, making it a place to walk while looking at high-rise buildings and passing boats. A stone monument marks the traces of the old Shinkawa that once flowed here, and bicycles are not allowed inside. Because it sits by the river, the wind is strong and it gets cold easily.
