Maeil Nakji is a nakji restaurant in an alley among the metalworking factories of Mullae-dong, Seoul, where whole live octopus is cooked on a griddle. Broth is added little by little, and scallions and crown daisy are blanched in it like shabu-shabu, finishing with rice porridge at the end. The octopus moves on the griddle while the broth, neither spicy nor heavy, is eaten alongside. The food is on the expensive side.
