Issei is an eel rice bowl restaurant that has operated since the Edo period, located near the station in front of Ueno Park. Its soy-based tare is low in sweetness, which brings out the soft flavor of the eel. Diners look at the model menu on the first floor and take the elevator up, and are sometimes guided to seats on the 6th or 7th floor where Ueno Park is visible. The eel contains many small bones, so care is needed while eating.
