The Tokyo National Museum in Tokyo is a national museum that displays Buddhist art and ukiyo-e. In the Heiseikan, an exhibition of treasures of Kukai and Shingon ran from July 14 to September 6, 2026. Eighteen head temples of the Shingon sect joined for the 1250th anniversary of Kukai's birth in 2023, and there are also coloring activities and ukiyo-e woodblock printing experiences. Photography is generally prohibited, and only the final hidden Buddha can be photographed.
