Sensoji is a large temple in Asakusa, Tokyo. Admission is free, and a shopping street runs alongside it with things to see and food to eat. Even at 8 a.m., before the shops open, there are quite a few people, and at night rats appear around the vending machines. Tourists and foreign visitors crowd the grounds, so looking around quietly is difficult.
