VETERAN KALGUKSU

Beterang Kalguksu Lotte Jamsil is a stall in the basement food court of Lotte Department Store at Jamsil Station in Seoul, selling kalguksu (knife-cut noodles) and dumplings. Its signature kalguksu has a thick perilla-seed broth and soft noodles, and a kimchi dumpling set can also be ordered. The shop began in 1977 in Hanok Village in Jeonju, and at lunchtime it is hard to find a seat while food comes out quickly. The jjolmyeon has too little sauce and the noodles carry a strong flour taste.
