Wangga Suracheong is a restaurant in Sokcho that serves hwangtae gui, hwangtae haejang-guk, and deodeok gui jeongsik, and people stop by before or after hiking Seoraksan. The hwangtae and deodeok jeongsik, which comes with both grilled hwangtae and grilled deodeok, is the signature menu, and the hwangtae-guk has a rich, milky broth. It opens at 8 a.m., the side dishes come in many varieties and can be refilled if they run out, and the restaurant has been run by three generations for over 30 years. Jeongsik orders start at two servings, and from elementary school age each person must order one menu item.
