Kungyokudo

Kungyokudo is an incense shop across from Nishi Hongan-ji in Kyoto, selling incense, incense sticks, soap, and hand cream. It carries stick and cone incense along with incense holders and sachets, and customers can burn incense to sample scents they are curious about. The main store has operated since 1594 without branches, with the first floor selling premium items such as agarwood and the second floor selling everyday goods and related products. On the second floor, staff explain products in English and offer tax-free shopping, sealing purchases in duty-free bags.
